The oldest banking institution in Nebraska is the United States National
Bank. It was the successor of a land agency opened in 1855 by Joseph H.
Millard and Company. The company changed its name on October 2, 1883,
when it opened as the United States National Bank. The image in this
photo is of the building at 1207 Farnam Street. This was the second
building to house the USNB.
