United States Capitol, Washington D.C.

Located at the heart of Washington D.C., the United States Capitol cradles the legislative branch of the US government, composed mainly of the Senate (found in the north wing) and the House of Representatives (in the south wing). The United States Capitol has five levels, each housing different departments, offices and committee rooms. It has galleries where people can watch the proceedings of the House and Senate when Congress is in session.

Built in 1793, the United States Capitol which is an elegant interpretation of a 19th-century neoclassical architecture holds on top of its dome a piece of sculpture known as the Statue of Freedom. Moreover, the United States Capitol is a museum of American art and history.

Approximately three to five million people from around the world travel to Washington D.C. to witness the grandeur of one of the world?s magnificent structures.
