If you are visiting San Salvador, I would recommend stopping by this church.
It has a unique and beautiful stain glass design that arches above the church. There is also an "eye" on the back wall, which will change with the light of the day. Just beautiful. Also, there were wonderful sculptures towards the back of the church.
I was told that during the civil war, there were 21 people murdered here and their bodies are entombed beneath the floor. (there is a memorial on the floor, as you enter the church). If you look at the iron wall outside (entrance), you can still see where the ammunition rounds entered the church.
It was a beautiful church and one of the reminders of a time that the Salvadorean people have endured.
