International Scholarships at Trent University, Canada - 2015
Applications are invited for Trent University Scholarships available for Canadian and international students. Full and Tuition scholarships range in value from CDN$1,000 to CDN$3,000 are available to students eligible for undergraduate admission to Trent. Three types of scholarships i.e. Trent International Global Citizen Scholarships, Designated International Scholarships and Trent University Entrance Scholarships (all students except exchange and letter of permission students, will automatically be considered).These scholarships are tenable for up to four years of an Honours degree if a “B” average is maintained each year and are available for students entering the University in September only.

Scholarships are awarded in all subjects available at Trent University.
Course Level: 
Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate degree program at Trent University.
Eligibility: 
  • Full and Tuition scholarships to students eligible for undergraduate admission to Trent and who are not citizens or permanent residents of Canada. Preference is given to high school graduates although transfer students are also eligible to apply. 
  • TRENT-ESL students are eligible to apply for International Awards upon successful completion of the TRENT-ESL program. All students except exchange and letter of permission students, will automatically be considered for Trent University Entrance Scholarships, awarded for academic excellence.
  • Trent International Global Citizen Scholarships and Awards:
  • Trent International Full Scholarships: Outstanding academic achievement (top 3 in class), community and/or international service, excellent record of extra-curricular activities and leadership, as well as an assessment of financial need.
  • Justin Chiu Global Citizen Scholarship: Outstanding academic achievement (top 3 in class), community and/or international service, excellent leadership, as well as an assessment of financial need. Open to students from Asia.
  • Trent International Tuition Scholarships: High academic achievement (top 5 in class), community and/or international service, excellent leadership, as well as an assessment of financial need.
  • Trent International Levy Tuition Scholarship: Based on high academic achievement (top 5 in class), community and/or international service, excellent record of extra-curricular activities and leadership as well as an assessment of financial need. Open to students from developing countries.
  • Trent International Awards and Trent Scotiabank Awards: Good academic achievement and a record of extra-curricular activities. Preference given to top candidates in scholarship competition.
  • Designated International Scholarships:
  • Trent University-United World College Scholarships: Open to UWC graduating students nominated by their home UWC. Based on outstanding academic achievement (top 5 in class), community and/or international service, excellent record of extra-curricular activities and leadership, as well as an assessment of financial need.
  • Jack Matthews International Full Scholarship: Open to graduating students from Pearson UWC of the Pacific and nominated by Pearson UWC, based on outstanding academic achievement (top 5 in class), international service, excellent record of extra-curricular activities and leadership.
  • Trent University Entrance Scholarships: All students, Canadian and International, applying to Trent will be automatically considered for Trent University Entrance Scholarships, awarded for academic excellence.
  • IB Entrance Scholarships: All international students applying for admission to Trent on the basis of IB diploma will be automatically considered for IB Entrance Scholarships.
 Benefit:
  1. Trent International Global Citizen Scholarships and Awards.
  2. Trent International Full Scholarships: Approximately CDN$32,000 per academic year (8 months). Covers international tuition, ancillary, health insurance and living fees.
  3. Justin Chiu Global Citizen Scholarship: Approximately CDN$32,000 per academic year (8 months). Covers international tuition, ancillary, health insurance and living fees. Depending on need, may also include books, and/or other miscellaneous expenses.
  4. Trent International Tuition Scholarships: Approximately CDN$20,000 per academic year (8 months). Covers international tuition and ancillary fees.
  5. Trent International Levy Tuition Scholarship: Approximately CDN$20,000 per academic year (8 months). Covers international tuition and ancillary fees.
  6. Trent International Awards and Trent Scotiabank Awards: Approximately CDN$2,000-$7,000 per academic year (8 months).
  7. Designated International Scholarships-
  8. Trent University-United World College Scholarships: Approx. CDN$32,000 per academic year (8 months). Covers international tuition and ancillary fees, health insurance, room and board. Depending on need, may also include books, and some other miscellaneous expenses.
  9. Jack Matthews International Full Scholarship: Approx. CDN$32,000 per academic year (8 months). Covers international tuition and ancillary fees, health insurance, and living fees.
  10. Trent University Entrance Scholarships: These range in value from CDN$1,000 to CDN$3,000. Students on a Year/Term Study Abroad at Trent are not eligible for Entrance Scholarship.
  11. IB Entrance Scholarships: To qualify for a CDN$1,000 IB Entrance Scholarship, students must have a minimum IB score of 28.

Applications for Designated International Scholarships and Trent International Global Citizen Scholarships should be submitted via post.
  • Selection will be based on academic achievement and financial need as well. Preference is given to high school graduates although transfer students are also eligible to apply.
