Riviera Theater, Chicago



The Riviera Theater is a concert venue on the north side of Chicago. Located in the historic Uptown theater district, the theater is known for hosting intimate general admission concerts and other events.  Built in 1917, the venue is capable of hosting 2,500. Originally built for the theater chain Balaban & Katz, the theater was designed by George and C.W. Rapp and is an example of the French Renaissance Revival in Chicago.

The Riviera Theater was transformed into a private nightclub in 1986 and has been the host of some of the best artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. Recent performances include Fall Out Boy, Ingrid Michaelson, Ben Harper, M83, Girl Talk and Death Cab for Cutie.
