Legoland

In the Bavarian town of Günzburg, one hour from Munich and Stuttgart, there's a land where everyone can be a true hero – LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort, which was awarded the Parkscout Public Award for the 'most child-friendly theme park' in 2012 and is ideal for ages four and above.

The centrepiece of the LEGOLAND family theme park, which is the equivalent of 26 football pitches in size, is Miniland. Here, famous European cities and landscapes have been lovingly recreated on a scale of 1:20 using over 25 million ordinary LEGO bricks. The beautifully detailed theme areas are also lots of fun – Adventure Land, LEGO X-treme, Imagination, LEGO City, Knights' Kingdom, Pirate Land and Little Asia with a world first, the Flying Ninjago. LEGOLAND is big on hands-on activities. Budding inventors can create and programme their own LEGO robots at the LEGO MINDSTORMS Centre and the next generation of architects can build dizzyingly high skyscrapers at the LEGO Build & Test Centre. The LEGO indoor underwater world will take you on a journey through the sunken city of Atlantis: in addition to real sharks, rays and tropical fish, there are 50 models made from over one million LEGO bricks in and around the aquarium. The high ropes course welcomes absolute beginners and seasoned climbers alike. On a total of six courses with 42 elements, grown-ups and children push themselves to the limit and test their agility at heights of up to ten metres.
