At 1,141 metres, Mount Brocken is the tallest peak not only in the Harz hills, but also in the whole of northern Germany.
Surrounded by the Harz National Park, the summit is home to
the fantastic Brocken Museum, the Brocken Gardens and the Brocken Hotel
offering a restaurant and refreshments. The Harz narrow-gauge railway
provides a convenient alternative to the footpath up the mountain. On
clear days, the fabulous views granted by the panorama loop trail can
extend for up to 230km.
