Poseidon Undersea Resorts was a proposed chain of underwater five-star resorts that was first slated to open by September 2008.The first was to be located on a private island in Fiji. The project was to be the world's first permanent one-atmosphere seafloor structure.

2.Water Discus Hotel - Dubai:

With its extravagant buildings and masses of multimillionaires, Dubai can certainly not be accused of being understated.
But the United Arab Emirates state could soon have an addition to its array of opulent dwellings, with the introduction of the world's largest underwater hotel.
Already featuring some of the world's most extravagant resorts, the Water Discus hotel will allow guests to enjoy the high life at a subterranean level.

3. Conrad Hilton – Maldives:

The 9 to 5 will seem like a million miles away at this oasis of luxury, where you enjoy not merely 1, but 2 palm-fringed tropical islands. The resort is set across them, linked by a 500m footbridge, and offers 3 different luxury experiences - amazing, thatch-roofed Water Villas perched on stilts over the shallow waters, beautifully furnished Beach Villas, or luxurious Retreat Water Villas, each with their own treatment room and jacuzzi, part of the only Destination Spa in the Maldives. Set 5 metres below the sparkling waters of the Indian Ocean is the Maldives first underwater restaurant, Ithaa, with fantastic 180º views of the surrounding coral gardens and serving exquisite European cuisine.

4. Huvafen Fushi – Maldives:

With its large clear lagoon and striking infinity pool extending over the glistening waters, Huvafen Fushi is beautiful. But it’s got substance too – the luxury villas all have private pools, there’s a futuristic underwater spa, and innovative fine dining options. And for such an indulgent resort, it’s refreshingly relaxed too.

5.The Shimao Wonderland – China:

Initiated in 2006, located in a 90-metre deep water filled quarry, postponed several times due to the technical issues, the Shimao Underground Hotel, finally started on site this year.
This 380-room resort, one of the Intercontinental Hotels Group’s flagship hotels in China, has just three storeys above ground but a staggering 16 storeys underground. Built in the Songjiang District near Shanghai and surrounded by the existing rock-face, it distinguishes itself from any other five star hotels in China whose aim is simply providing deluxe star services. For instance, this one can offer the possibility for extreme sports (like the rock climbing and bungee jumping) in a real natural environment.
