Balboa Park, San Diego California

Balboa Park is one of San Diego's largest and most historic vacation destinations. The total area of this mammoth park is 1,200 acres and it is an urban cultural park named after Vasco Nuñez de Balboa, who was a Spanish maritime explorer.
This park is often referred as the “Smithsonian of the West” for its concentration of cultural institutions and it is the largest cultural complex in the West of Mississippi. It was built during 1915-16 Panama- California exposition in San Diego. This park is one of the most attractive tourist spot in California for its beautiful building but, the real attraction is the history, culture, art and science depicted here. It includes eight gardens, 15 museums, a theatre and the San Diego Zoo. People visiting this natural tourist destination will have a long lasting memory of this park.
